STATEMENT
This project was carried out during my ninth semester for the module called Commercial Fashion. The subject of the project was the bicentennial, and it was one of the finalists for the contest held by the El Tesoro shopping mall due to its commemoration of our country’s 200 years of independence.
The statement consisted in creating a mini-collection inspired by a historical event related to our independence.

The proposals are, then, inspired in both the Colombian fauna and the graphic references, that is, the illustrations resulting from these scientific research works and findings.
Colors: Spring colors, various types of pink, green, blue-green, purple in very diverse tones, and applied to different floral patterns, mixed amongst them, trying to resemble the harmonic and, at the same time, contrastable nature of the flora, specially Latin flora.

Silhouette: the silhouette is rather loose, fluent and sheer, clearly referencing its inspiration.

Materials: drapey, sheer fabrics, with natural fibers such as cotton, silk, or linen. Tulle, delicate and almost transparent, generates layers that resemble the mist of dew, water or wind.

Tailoring details: pleats and gatherings. Small details such as pearled buttons or bugle beads, generating delicate and feminine garments. Drapes and braids taking the pattern as starting point, which refer to botany and the vegetable kingdom. Textures of flowers made with fabrics.
